Construction Worker Charges in NYC Actress’ Murder
One of the construction workers helping Adrienne Shelly renovate her apartment has been charged in connection with the indie actress’ murder.
Last week, Shelly’s body was discovered hanging from a shower rod in her New York home, reports the Associated Press. Initial reports suggested that Shelly had likely committed suicide, but police investigations were still underway.
Now the case has shifted, and Diego Pillco has been charged with second-degree murder. The 19-year-old was charged after he “made statements,” according to police. Further details weren’t released.
Shelly, 40, appeared in many films over her 17 year career. Most notably, she starred in 1989’s “The Unbelievable Truth” and alongside Billy Crudup in 1997’s “Grind.”
Shelly leaves behind a husband and a 3-year-old daughter.
