Britney Spears has filed for divorce from her husband of two years, dancer and rapper Kevin Federline.
Spears filed papers on Monday in a Los Angeles court citing irreconcilable differences. The news became public late on Tuesday when the papers were posted on TMZ’s web site.
The 10-page report shows that Spears is also seeking custody of the couple’s two children, one-year-old Sean Preston, and newborn Jayden James.
Meanwhile, Federline was in Toronto when Spears filed the papers promoting his debut hip-hop album. Federline has been seen around town partying and shopping, but has only agreed to do a handful of interviews.
Perhaps Federline saw the divorce coming? He cancelled an interview with andPOP on Friday. The interview would have had three stipulations: no questions about his first wife, his children or Britney.
