Phil Collins Rejoins Genesis for Tour
Phil Collins will soon join some of his old bandmates in Genesis for their first tour together since 1992.
Ex-frontman Peter Gabriel, who left the group in 1975, won’t be part of the tour, according to Billboard. Steve Hackett, who played guitar in the band during Gabriel’s time but left in 1977, won’t play either.
Instead, Collins will be joined by principal members Tony Banks and Mike Rutherford.
Though Banks and Rutherford will tour together this year, Collins won’t be involved until sometime in 2007. An official announcement was expected on Monday out of London.
For Collins, it’ll be his first tour since 2004, when he played a string of “First Farewell” concerts.
