The Toronto Star reported this morning that it is nearly a sure thing that “We Will Rock You” will be hitting the stage in T.O. next year.

Sources tell the paper the show, which is based on 32 Queen songs and debuted in London in 2002, will take the stage on March 14, 2007. It will follow “Mama Mia’s” footsteps – the cast will be Canadian, but the creators of the original show will oversee its production.

Mirvish confirmed the speculation, tickets for the show go on sale Nov. 20. and the show will take the stage next March

The arrival of “We Will Rock You” has been on and off again in Toronto for a number of months. A few months ago, a Mirvish source said the odds were 70-30 in getting the musical.
