Jay Manuel will be the new host for the second season of “Canada’s Next Top Model,” the Toronto Star reports.

Manuel, originally from Scarborough, is the current co-host of “America’s Next Top Model,” and hosts “Style Her Famous” on the Style Network in the States. He says Tyra Banks, who hosts the American modeling show with Manuel, told him to go for the hosting gig.

“She said, `You have to do it, I don’t know why you wouldn’t do it.’ She backs it 150 per cent,” said Manuel. He also hopes to get Banks to come up and be a guest star on the new season.

Manuel takes over the hosting job from Canadian model Tricia Helfer, who hosted the first season.

The second season will air on City TV in the spring.
