Nominees Announced for 2007 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
The list of nominees for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame was announced on Monday, with nine candidates named and five spots available.
Up for consideration are R.E.M., Patti Smith, Van Halen, The Stooges, Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, Chic, The Dave Clark Five, Joe Tex and The Ronettes, according to the Chicago Tribune.
The chosen will be announced in January 2007, with the induction ceremony set for March 12 in New York City.
The announcement will be a disappointment to the KISS Army, who protested outside the Cleveland home of the Hall, demanding that their make-up’d heroes be inducted.
