Country star Reba McEntire is a popular gal who, clearly, is quite a draw. Los Angeles’ Kodak Theatre was brimming with fans and stars who came out to honour McEntire on Thursday night. Dolly Parton, Barbara Mandrell, Trisha Yearwood, and LeAnn Rimes were among the boldface who came out to the taping of a tribute to McEntire for an episode of Country Music Television’s “CMT Giants” series.

“Well, it’s very overwhelming, very flattering,” McEntire said of the star-studded red carpet, “I am in hog heaven, to say the least. I am just thrilled to pieces.”

And she was flattered some more with compliments all around from admirers like Wynonna Judd, who said “[McEntire] came before me and paved the way. These strong women, I stand on their shoulders.”

Kelly Clarkson also gushed, “I am here to tell Reba she’s awesome. I love her, I adore her. … She’s just done so many great things, and so many great things for people. She’s just a really great person, amazing.”

McEntire is most famous for her hits “Whoever’s in New England” and “Does He Love You,” as well as her successes in acting. She has starred in the Broadway hit “Annie Get Your Gun” and her TV sitcom, “Reba,” has been on the air since 2001.

The “CMT Giants” special is scheduled to air on November 18.
