Canadian Howie Mandel has made it bug with his hit game show, “Deal or No Deal,” and now he’s looking to give back to his home country.
Global Television reported on Monday that it will soon air their own version of the show. They inked a deal with Endemol U.S.A. that promises five hour-long episodes to be broadcast in Canada next spring on Global.
The shows will be produced on location in Toronto starting in January. Global will reveal details on casting, contests and becoming part of the studio audience soon.
This isn’t the first time that a hit American game show was translated to Canadian audiences. Regis Philbin’s “Who Wants to be a Millionaire?” had a Canadian version on CTV, and “Canadian Idol,” also on CTV, is still pulling in decent ratings.
The American version airs on Global on Thursday’s at 9 p.m.
