Nick Lachey has topped his ex-wife and former Newlyweds co-star Jessica “Chestica” Simpson in United States CD sales, reports the New York Daily News.

Simpson’s latest album “A Public Affair,” has sold 218,972 in the States. Lachey, meanwhile, has moved 545,345 copies of his latest, “What’s Left Of Me.”

Simpson offers listeners a zippy pop album in the wake of her divorce, which was finalized in June. Lachey, on the other hand, took the obviously more successful route by sharing his “sadness” after the divorce on his disc.

It appears the Jessica Simpson train may finally be coming to a halt. Her latest big-screen flick “Employee of the Month” was also a bit of a flop.
