Mad About You Creator Has New Comedy In The Works
Danny Jacobson, the man behind ’90s hit sitcom “Mad About You,” is attempting to make a comeback.
Jacobson, who created “Mad About You” with the show’s star Paul Reiser, is currently working on a comedy script at Fox that is reportedly centered on a rough and tough guy who invades a dainty country club. Jacobson will write the script and act as an executive producer.
Last year, Jacobson made headlines for a comedy pilot he wrote for the WB Network. The new series was to star singer Nick Lachey, and while the Internet Movie Database still lists the show as being in production, there has been no word on its status for months now. Jacobson was last credited as screenwriter for the last year’s “The Honeymooners,” a feature film which starred comedian Cedric the Entertainer. He was among the screenwriters on last year’s feature film adaptation of “The Honeymooners.”
“Mad About You” won 12 Emmy Awards in its eight-year run on NBC from 1992-99.
