Chad Lowe has a new job.

He will join the cast of the Emmy award winning drama, “24,” where he will play Reed Pollock – a “savvy politico” – E! Online reports.

Some may have forgotten Lowe is an actor, as earlier this year he made headlines when he and his former wife, Hilary Swank decided to separate. When Swank went public with the couple’s decision to divorce, she said Lowe had addiction problems.

Other new castmembers to the popular Fox drama include Kal Penn and Peter MacNichol.

The sixth season of “24″ premieres in January.
