Alex Goen, the CEO of TrimSpa and a close friend of Anna Nicole Smith, says that the former Playboy star is not married, despite reports to the contrary.

In an interview with Us Magazine, Goen says that Smith and her lawyer Howard K. Stern declared their love for each other during a ceremony in the Bahamas, but that no marriage certificate was involved.

“They had a quiet ceremony and declared how much they love each other in front of God. They vowed they would be there for each other,” says Goen. “They do plan to have a proper ceremony in the future.”

The ceremony took place just more than a day after Stern claimed to be the father of Smith’s new baby girl, Danni Lynn Hope. However, the very next day, Smith’s ex-boyfriend Larry Birkhead claimed he was Danni’s father and demanded a DNA test.

Only a couple weeks earlier, Smith lost her 20-year-old son Daniel to a suspected accident with medications.
