Paris Hilton was charged today with driving under the influence, according to reports.

Hilton is scheduled for arraignment this Thursday, Sept. 28 in Superior Court. Nick Velasquez, a spokesperson for city prosecutors, told the Associate Press that Hilton is charged with driving with a blood-alcohol level of 0.08 percent.

The incident occurred Sept. 7 when Hilton was stopped in her Mercedes-Benz SLR. Her blood alcohol lever, 0.08 percent, is the minimum amount to warrant an arrest.

Later that day, Hilton told KIIS-FM’s morning radio host Ryan Seacrest during an interview that she wasn’t driving recklessly, but may have been speeding a bit.

If this arrest results in a conviction, Hilton could either face up to six months in jail and be fined $1,000, or she could receive the minimum penalty for a first-time offender, which is a fine, probation and she would have to attend an alcohol-rehabilitation program.
