Star Trek Celebrates 40th Anniversary
Happy Birthday, Star Trek.
Trekkies everywhere are celebrating today as the sci-fi adventure series marks its 40th anniversary. “Star Trek” first made its TV launch on Sept. 8, 1966.
There won’t be any cake but classic-TV network TV Land will air four episodes from the original “Star Trek” series on Friday at 8 p.m. EDT. The pilot and the historic episode fearing TV’s first interracial kiss will be featured.
The network will begin broadcasting “Star Trek” episodes regularly on November 17. Episodes can also be viewed online at TVLand.com.
Fans should also check local listings for high-definition versions of episodes set to debut in syndication on Sept. 16.
