Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have set their sights on a new plight, although this time, the couple will be helping out a little closer to home.

The Associated Press reports that Jolie and Pitt will be aiding rebuilding efforts of New Orleans, and that the couple hope to be living there for a couple of months.

Pitt appeared at a news conference yesterday Pitt said he and Jolie will be spending “a lot of time” in the New Orleans area.

He also announced the winners of the design contest for rebuilding the ninth ward and expressed dismay that there are still neighbourhoods in New Orleans that have to be cleaned up, and have yet to receive vital services so citizens can move home again.

“This is a social justice issue,” he said. “In a catastrophe, you help the most vulnerable first, and we failed to do that.”
