George Bush to Suffer CGI Assassination
A new fictional film shot in the style of a documentary is stirring up controversy for Britain’s Channel 4.
“Death of a President” is being called a “shockingly real” TV drama that will trace the aftermath of a fictionalized assassination of U.S. President George Bush, reports Reuters.
Set to debut this September at the Toronto International Film Festival, the movie follows the investigation into the sniper shooting.
The film places the assassination in October 2007 at a Chicago anti-war rally, and uses both archival footage and computer-generated imaging to create the incident.
“It’s a pointed political examination of what the war on terror is doing to the American body politic,” said Peter Dale, boss of Channel 4’s More4.
This autumn, the channel will also explore a futuristic scenario involving British Prime Minster Tony Blair. “The Trial of Tony Blair” will be a satirical program taking a look at his future resignation.
