Actor Brandon Routh and his girlfriend, actress Courtney Ford, are engaged.

The “Superman Returns” actor proposed to Ford earlier this month with a beautiful ring from Neil Lane, an L.A. jeweler.

“They are very happy,” said Kacey Spies, a representative for Routh, reports People.

The couple has been dating for three years and met at a bowling alley in Hollywood. “I was a bartender. And her brother was having his (wedding) rehearsal dinner party there,” said Routh.

Not only did he meet the girl of his dreams, but met her family at the same time as well.

During filming of “Superman Returns,” Routh and Ford were apart for five months but kept in touch daily calling each other on the phone. The couple is so much in love that “she brings me to my knees,” said Routh.

The wedding will take place next fall. But for now, the couple will work together on the film “Denial.”
