Paris Hilton’s new music video for the song “Stars Are Blind” has been essentially banned by Indian censors.

The Central Board of Film Certification in India has given the video an “Adult” certification, meaning it can’t be shown on any channel, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Apparently, the board found the video to be too sexual, even after it had been altered from its original form.

“We had edited the video and sent a fresh copy, but they weren’t happy with that,” said Narendra Kusnur, the manager of international A&R at EMI Virgin India Ltd.

However, the label is skirting the rating by streaming the video online in cooperation with an Indian shampoo company that is sponsoring the album’s marketing campaign.

“To the best of our knowledge, there are no rules yet regarding censorship on the ‘Net so we plan to use the online platform to generate buzz,” said Kaveri Khullar, EMI Virgin’s marketing manager.
