“Bon Cop, Bad Cop” is a success in Quebec, but has yet to dazzle English audiences in Canada.

The Globe and Mail reports the Canadian film, made for $8 million, took in just under $950,000, making it the number one film in Quebec (it easily beat North America’s number one film “Snakes on a Plane”).

However, the numbers outside of Quebec weren’t as rosy. It earned a gross of just under $300,000 on 131 screens across the country.

So far the film has grossed over $5.8 million in Quebec alone. It is expected to recoup its $8 million in production costs through revenues from Quebec. At the rate “Bon Cop, Bad Cop” is going, it is also expected to give the top grossing film of all time in Quebec – “Seraphin” – a run for the top spot on that list. “Seraphin” grossed nearly $10 million in 2002.
