Her boots really were made for walking.

Steffi D. was the latest casualty on “Canadian Idol” after her rendition of “These Boots Are Made for Walking” by Nancy Sinatra didn’t meet the audience’s approval.

Steffi’s companion in the bottom two was Eva, who many consider to be the frontrunner to win this year’s competition.

Martina McBride was the celebrity advisor this week, which was dubbed country week. The top five picked their favourite country song to perform on Monday night.

The results show began with McBride, who was joined by the top five Idols in a medley.

We were then treated to a solo performance by McBride, before host Ben Mulroney revealed the bottom two competitors.

“I’ve grown so attached to these guys in just a week. I don’t know how y’all are going to decide. It’s a tough decision, I’m glad I don’t have to make it,” McBride said when Mulroney asked her what she thought about the five Idol hopefuls.

Before announcing that Steffi was the one going home, Mulroney asked the judges what they thought of the bottom two.

“Well, yeah if I bang my head against the wall for a half an hour until my brain stopped working, that’s how I would have voted,” Zack Werner said, when asked if he expected the two women in the bottom two.

“The two people there have the most personality and the most charisma,” Jake Gold said.

“You have never been afraid to be exactly who you are. You brought something to this competition that nobody expected, and now, tonight, that is the same thing that so many people cannot live without,” Mulroney said to Steffi as he introduced her best-of reel.

“You guys, I love you. This has been the experience of a lifetime for me. Thank you so much. And guys, like, there will be no white flag above my door, man. This isn’t the end!” Steffi said to her fans.

The final four competitors return next Monday night with songs picked by the judges for the performers.
