Rock band Interpol has left their record label Matador Records and has a new deal with Capitol. Along with the switch, they will now be managed by Dave Holmes.

Interpol has released two successful albums with Matador Records. They released their 2002 debut, “Turn on the Bright Lights,” which sold 438,000 copies in the United States. Their 2004 follow-up album, “Antics,” sold 435,000 copies and debuted at No. 16 on The Billboard 200, reports Billboard.

Earlier this year, their contract with indie label Matador expired and they soon became a popular interest among major record labels. However, Capitol has had their eye on Interpol since 2001, when the president of the label met with the band before they were signed to the indie label.

The band has been working on material for the past couple of months and will be in the studio this fall to record it for their third album due sometime next year.
