Bob and Doug McKenzie Plan Reunion, Eh?
Veritable icons of Canadian culture Bob & Doug McKenzie are planning a one-off reunion for a CBC special.
The Toronto Sun reports that Dave Thomas, the co-creator of the characters, made the announcement on Monday.
Thomas and Rick Moranis, the other half of the comedy duo, successfully pitched the idea for a one-hour comedy special to CBC-TV. It is penciled in for a May 2007 air-date.
The broadcast is scheduled to coincide with the 24th anniversary of their cult film, “Strange Brew.”
“There will be original footage of us as the hosers,” said Thomas about the reunion special. “It will probably be our last time to do this, too.”
The show will also include old clips and new interviews with other “Strange Brew” stars (along with Demi Moore, who auditioned for a role but didn’t make the cut).
