Will Ferrell Flick Places First Again
Will Ferrell’s new comedy, “Talladega Nights,” finished number one at the box office for the second straight week, bringing in another $22.1 million, E! Online reports.
The teen flick “Step Up” was second, bringing in $20.7 million in its opening weekend. And in third was Oliver Stone’s 9/11 flick, World Trade Center bringing in $19.7 million.
Jim Tharp, distribution chief at Paramount, said to Reuters that in exit polls, over 90 per cent of those who had seen the 9/11 movie gave it a good or excellent review.
The rest of the top 10 were: “Barnyard” in fourth place, bringing in $9.7 million; “Pulse” in fifth place, bringing in $8.2 million; “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest” in sixth place, bringing in $7.2 million; “Miami Vice” at seventh, $4.7 million; “The Descent” at eighth, bringing in $4.6 million; “Zoom” in ninth place, bringing in $4.5 million; and “Monster House” rounded out the top 10 with $3.3 million
