Nashville to Create Country Walk of Fame
Reuters is reporting that Nashville is looking at creating its own walk of fame.
The walk of fame will be open to performers, songwriters, musicians, producers and other “outstanding figures” in the industry, and will be chosen by a special committee.
Mayor Bill Purcell of Nashville says the first inductees will be announced in November at this year’s CMA Music Week.
The sidewalk will be located from downtown Nashville to Music Row.
“Hollywood may have the Hollywood Walk of Fame but ours will be the only one that truly sings,” Gibson Guitar’s chief executive Henry Juszkiewicz said. Gibson’s will be providing funding for the project.
