A fundraising event at Bennett College in the United States featuring Oprah Winfrey and Maya Angelou sold out in the first day of ticket sales, the Associated Press reports.

300 tickets were available for the show, bringing in more than $100,000 for the private school in North Carolina. However, officials say corporate blocks of tickets can still be purchased – for $25,000 to $100,000.

The reason for the fundraising dinner is part of the school’s current principal’s plan to leave her office in June with the school in a positive financial spot.

President Johnetta Cole’s goal is to raise $50 million – the campaign is co-chaired by Angelou. Prior to Cole’s presidency, the school was running a $2 million debt.

The event will occur on Oct. 20.
