Academy Award winning actress Meryl Streep will narrate a documentary entitled “Hurricane on the Bayou,” which tells the story of Hurricane Katrina, USA Today reports.

The documentary will see its premiere in New Orleans on Aug. 29 – exactly one year from the day Katrina smashed into its coast.

“Meryl Streep’s ability to connect with audiences and the depth she brings to everything she does makes her the ideal narrator for this film, which has so many moods,” Greg MacGillivray, director-producer of the film, said in a statement.

The film’s aim is to restore the natural wetlands around the New Orleans area, which helped to protect the city from dangerous weather. It also celebrates the musical talent that New Orleans is renowned for.
