Ricky Bobby’s Ballad Places First
“Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby” has come in first place at the weekend box office, raking in $47 million in its debut weekend, E! Online reports.
The animated family tale “Barnyard” placed a distant second, bringing in only $16 million, “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest” was third with an additional $11 million.
Last week’s number one flick, “Miami Vice,” dropped all the way to fourth, with only $9.7 million, while the horror flick “The Descent” brought in $8.8 million for fifth.
The new teen movie, “John Tucker Must Die,” was sixth with $6.05 million, while family friendly flicks “Monster House” and “The Ant Bully” were seventh and eighth with $6 million and $3.9 million respectively. Robin Williams’ new film, “The Night Listener” was ninth with $3.6 million.
And “You, Me and Dupree” rounded out the top 10 at tenth with $3.6 million.
