Axl Rose Forced to Leave Stage
Guns N’ Roses front-man Axl Rose fell sick and was forced to make an early exit during his band’s final show on a European tour.
The BBC reports that Rose had been advised by a doctor to not perform at Sunday’s Wembley Arena show in London. He had been diagnosed with low blood pressure and low blood sugar earlier in the day.
Rose was replaced by ex-Skid Row singer Sebastian Bach on the final two songs of the evening. Bach was a special guest that night, and had appeared earlier.
Despite the incident, Rose said after the show that the band had “an amazing tour.”
“I approached this last show with equal parts determination, obligation, responsibility and insanity,” he said.
Rose had played two shows already that day, worsening his already fragile health.
And though he managed about two hours of performance that night, Bach had to take over for the set-closing “Night Train” and the encore, “Paradise City.”
Guns N’ Roses is scheduled to play a North American tour this fall.
