Singer and actress Cher has announced plans to auction off 700 personal items from her home, including her bed, original Bob Mackie-designed costumes, and a 2003 H2 Hummer.
The Associated Press reports that the auction, to be held in October by Julien’s Auctions and Sotheby’s, is expected to raise more than $1 million US. According to Cher, a “nice percentage” of the money taken in will go to the Cher Charitable Foundation.
“I’m truly excited about it, having had this stuff for so many years,” said the 60-year-old performer. “I’m only keeping about five items from everything I have.”
Cher said that the desire to redecorate her Malibu home has led to the upcoming sell-off.
About 200 pieces of clothing (including designer dresses and costumes) and 85 pieces of jewelry (including some she made herself) will be included in the auction.
