The cast of “Law & Order: Criminal Intent” lost its newest member on Sunday when Nona Gaye announced her departure from the show.

According to Reuters, sources say that creative differences are to blame for Gaye quitting, only days after the show’s sixth season began shooting.

Gaye, the daughter of influential soul musician Marvin Gaye, had only recently signed on to play the new assistant district attorney on the popular legal series.

Courtney B. Vance had played the role for five seasons, and Gaye was her replacement.

Now, Theresa Randle has replaced Gaye, and is expected to arrive on set for Tuesday. It’s her first major TV role, though she’s starred in films like “Girl 6,” “Spawn,” and the “Bad Boys” franchise.

Returning cast members for the upcoming season of “Criminal Intent” include Vincent D’Onofrio, Chris Noth and Kathryn Erbe. In addition to Randle, new cast members include Eric Bogosian and Julianne Nicholson.
