Lindsay Lohan’s mother has said that studio exec James Robinson was “way out of line” for blaming the actress’ frequent lateness on heavy partying.

“You and your representatives have told us that your various late arrivals and absences from the set have been the result of illness; today we were told it was ‘heat exhaustion,’” Robinson, the CEO of Morgan Creek Productions, wrote in a letter that was hand-delivered to Lohan. “We are well aware that your ongoing all night heavy partying is the real reason for your so-called ‘exhaustion.’”

In an interview with Access Hollywood set to air on Monday, Dina Lohan took issue with Robinson’s letter.

“Maybe he has personal issues with whomever and it came out with my child,” she said in the interview. “I don’t know him. I can’t judge him. I don’t think it was a smart thing to do to a young girl.”

Lohan and Robinson are currently working together on the family drama “Georgia Rules.”

In the letter, Robinson said that delays caused by Lohan had cost the production hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Her most recent absence was blamed on heat exhaustion and resulted in a trip to the hospital.

“Lindsay was in 105 (degree weather) saying, ‘Mommy, I feel sick; like I am going to faint,’” recounted her mother. “She took herself to the hospital. She has asthma and in extreme cold or heat you can’t breathe.”
