Sarah Loverock is the latest Canadian Idol hopeful to have her dreams crash down.

The top nine was whittled down to eight tonight after the Idols performed the songs of the Rolling Stones last night.

After the Idols performed a Stones medley, host Ben Mulroney got straight down to the business at hand.

Loverock was the first contestant named in the bottom three, followed by Steffi D and Ashley Coulter. This was the second week the bottom three contained only women.

When asked what he thought about that fact, judge Jake Gold said it was important for the ladies to remember that last year’s winner, Melissa O’Neil, spent a lot of time in the bottom three.

Steffi D was the first Idol to be proclaimed safe by Mulroney.

After the commercial break, Mulroney wasted no time in giving Loverock the bad news.

In her Idol exit interview, Loverock said she was having a great time, and was very thankful for all of the fans that were voted for her.

Next week Cindi Lauper will be on the show, giving the Idols advice on the Monday night performance show, and she will also perform live during the results show on Tuesday.
