Rolling Stones Halifax Rumour Builds
Earlier this month, a rumour that the Rolling Stones would play Halifax, NS emerged. And now, as hotel rooms fill up fast for the possible show date, East Coast rock fans are anxiously awaiting confirmation.
The Chronicle-Herald reports that Halifax mayor Peter Kelly said an official announcement might be made as early as Tuesday.
Most reports and online chatter has indicated the show will take place at the Commons, a large outdoor park, on September 23.
Many area hotels are already close to being fully booked for the date, as fans snatch up accomodations in anticipation of the possible appearance by Mick Jagger and Co.
Fans have also been speculating about opening acts for the show on Internet message boards. Names that have come up include The Who, Nickelback, and East Coast natives Great Big Sea and Sloan.
