Pirates Still at Number One
“Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest” refuses to let another movie steal the top spot at the weekend box office.
E! Online reports the Johnny Depp sequel took in another $35 million at the box office this past weekend, making it number one again and bringing its running total to $321.7 million.
The Steven Spielberg-Robert Zemeckis kid’s film “Monster House” was number two, bringing in $23 million in its opening weekend, and “Lady in the Water” was third with $18.2 million.
The rest of the top 10 included “You, Me and Dupree” in fourth place with $12.8 million, “Little Man” in fifth place with $11 million, “Clerks II” took in $9.6 million to land in sixth, “My Super Ex-Girlfriend” took in $8.7 million to finish seventh, “Superman Returns” took in $7.46 million for eighth place, “The Devil Wears Prada” was at number nine with $7.42 million and “Cars” rounded out the top 10 with $4.9 million.
