Andrea Muizelaar, a cashier from Whitby, ON, was crowned as the first winner on “Canada’s Next Top Model” last night.

Muizelaar beat out nine other candidates to win the $100,000 contract with Proctor and Gamble, a modeling contract with Sutherland Models and a spread in a fashion magazine.

“It’s been hard not being able to say anything to friends and family,” she said to the Toronto Star about her win (the final episode was taped back in March).

Muizelaar was blasted throughout the series for her weight, and that she was too skinny to win the show. The Star reports that the judges deliberated for over five hours trying to decide who should win.

“Canada’s Next Top Model” was the Canadian version of the U.S. smash reality show “America’s next Top Model,” which was hosted by Tyra Banks. The Canadian version was hosted by model Tricia Helfer and aired on City TV.
