Daniel Baldwin Crashes on L.A. Street
Actor Daniel Baldwin is recovering in hospital — and will be detained by police — after crashing his car on a busy Los Angeles street on Wednesday.
According to L.A. police spokesperson Jason Lee, the 45-year-old’s silver Ford Thunderbird smashed into two parked cars. At the time, police were in pursuit of Baldwin after seeing the car weave in and out of traffic and hit speeds of more than 128 km/h.
“The officer tried to catch up to the Thunderbird, lost sight of it momentarily and came up to a traffic collision where the T-bird had crashed into two parked vehicles,” Lee said, according to Reuters. “The Thunderbird pushed one of the vehicles about 20 feet, and that was a Hummer.”
Baldwin was transported to the UCLA Medical Center to be treated for back and neck injuries. He will be held by police on charges of reckless driving and driving with a suspended license. Additional charges may follow if Baldwin is found to have been intoxicated.
Police reported no other injuries in the incident, and no charges were laid against Baldwin’s unidentified female passenger.
