Section 8, the production company that George Clooney and Steven Soderbergh started together, has been shut down, Reuters is reporting.

Instead, Clooney has started the production company called Smoke House with Grant Heslov (the two previously collaborated on “Good Night and Good Luck”) and has signed a three year deal with Warner Brothers.

Section 8 was started by Clooney and Soderbergh in 2000, and produced many films including “Ocean’s 11,” “Rumour Has It” and “Good Night and Good Luck.”

“We decided that three years ago, the minute it becomes a business we’re going to get out. It doesn’t mean that I won’t continue to make films, it doesn’t mean that Steven and I won’t continue to work together either. You’ve got to thin the herd after awhile and start again, so it’s not all meetings about posters and contracts,” Clooney said at the beginning of the year.
