Britney Spears Receives Apology from Tabloid
Britney Spears has won a battle against the paparazzi.
Reuters is reporting that the British National Enquirer has issued an apology to the pop tartlet for a story in which they reported that Britney and K. Fed were divorcing.
“In the 5th and 12th June 2006 issues of the U.K. Enquirer, we published articles under the headlines ‘Britney Marriage Is Over!’ and ‘Britney and Kevin: And Now Their Divorce! Contrary to what our articles might have suggested, we now accept that their marriage is not over and they are not getting divorced. These allegations are untrue and we now accept Britney’s position that the statements are without foundation. We apologize for any distress caused,” the Enquirer said in its current issue on newsstands this week.
Paul Tweed, who was representing Spears in the suit, said getting an apology from the tabloid was rare and unexpected.
Spears married K. Fed in 2004. They have one son, Sean Preston, and Spears is pregnant with their second baby due in the fall.
