A new film detailing Mariane Pearl’s search for her abducted reporter husband, Daniel Pearl, will see Angelina Jolie and boyfriend Brad Pitt teaming up. Jolie will play Mariane, while Pitt’s company is producing the film.

Titled “A Mighty Heart,” the movie is based on Mariane’s memoirs of her search. Daniel, a Wall Street Journal reporter, was abducted and later beheaded by Pakistani militants in 2002.

“The film will focus on the deep collaboration between people around the world in search of Daniel in 2002,” said Pitt in an interview with People magazine. “We hope the film can increase understanding between people of all faiths.”

The movie will be directed by Michael Winterbottom (“Welcome to Sarajevo,” “The Road to Guantanamo”).
