Former American Idol Contestant Charged
Former “American Idol” contestant Daniel James “DJ” Boyd was indicted on child pornography charges, the Associated Press reports.
Boyd, who was a contestant on the reality show two years ago, made a court appearance yesterday and pleaded not guilty. He was arrested last month after a 14-year-old girl called police.
He is accused of videotaping sexual acts with minors, unlawful supply of alcohol to minors, and unlawful sexual activity with a minor.
If convicted, Boyd could face up to 40 years in prison. He is set to appear in court again on July 25 for the latter two charges, the trial for child pornography is scheduled to begin in September.
