A remake of Asian horror film The Eye is once again set to move forward.

According to Variety, the film has been given a new life now that Jessica Alba in talks to take on the starring role.

The project, produced by Tom Cruise and Paula Wagner, has been delayed since 2002, when Renee Zellweger dropped out of the lead spot for unknown reasons.

The film follows a cornea transplant patient who sees disturbing images when she looks in the mirror, prompting her to find out what happened to the eye’s original owner.

If all goes as planned, production on the film will begin this winter, with French filmmakers David Moreau and Xavier Palud likely directing.
