Peter MacNichol Lands ‘24′ Role
Emmy award-winning actor Peter MacNichol has signed up for a recurring role on Fox’s wildly successful TV series, 24.
Best known for playing John Cage on Ally McBeal (or the art-obsessed creeper in “Ghostbusters II”), MacNichol will play a high-ranking government figure on the show, E! Online reports.
MacNichol, 52, will also continue to fill his role as Dr. Larry Fleinhardt on the CBS series Numb3rs.
The producers of 24, Joel Surnow and Robert Cochran, are keeping quiet about plot lines for the upcoming season of their show, so there’s no word on whether MacNichol’s character will help or hinder Jack Bauer.
Last week, the real-time series received 12 Emmy nominations, more than any other network series.
The show averaged 13.6 million viewers every week last season — the fifth and most successful run to date for 24.
