Rob Corddry, comedian and correspondent on The Daily Show, became a father on Monday. Corddry and his wife, Sandra, welcomed a baby daughter.

The girl, named Sloane Sullivan Corddry, was born at 8:05 a.m. in New York City and weighed in at 7 lbs. 2 oz., according to People magazine.

“She is showing signs of early genius,” said Corddry’s spokesperson. “The family is happy, healthy and hungry.”

In a March 2006 interview, the 35-year-old TV star said he couldn’t wait to have a daughter.

“I am so excited to have a girl!” he told People. “I’m really looking forward to having tea parties and playing with pandas.”
