The Closer Lands Third Season
Kyra Sedgwick’s popular detective drama The Closer has been picked up for a third season on TNT.
The network has ordered 15 new episodes of the series for a summer 2007 run, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
“This show has been everything we hoped for and more,” said senior vice president of original programming for TNT and TBS, Michael Wright. “We are extremely proud to renew it and look forward to another fantastic year working with everyone involved.”
Two weeks ago, the premiere of the show’s second season attracted 8.3 million viewers, smashing the ratings record for a basic cable original scripted series.
