Katie Holmes is making headlines for herself as well today.

Friends of the actress are concerned she is loosing her pregnancy weight too fast. Holmes has dropped 28 pounds and two dress sizes in nearly two months, the Fashion Monitor Toronto website reports.

She has been on a vigorous program of exercise and a strict diet with trainer Sue Fleming. Her diet has been slammed by those in the health field as well, saying the new mom should loose the weight more naturally.

“Katie has embarked on a hardcore fitness regime and does 200 sit-ups a day, combined with two hours of cardio work before pilates,” a friend of the actress told U.K.’s The Daily Star.

All of Holmes’ effort is in preparation to her upcoming wedding to Tom Cruise this summer, who reportedly has been overseeing Holmes’ routines.

However, not all of the men in her life are thrilled at Holmes’ rapid weight loss. Her father told Reveal Magazine that his daughter is working too hard too soon.

“My daughter needs rest, relaxation and recuperation. Katie is already doing exercises to build up her back and shoulders and I simply can’t go along with what is happening,” he said.
