The world of Bollywood is ready to be saved. After decades of watching American superheroes like Batman and Spiderman save the day, India is finally getting its first homegrown hero — Krrish.

Reuters reports that “Krrish,” set to open in theatres across India on Friday, is a sequel to the 2003 blockbuster “Koi…Mil Gaya.”

Considered Bollywood’s first major science fiction film, the movie followed the character Rohit as he saves an E.T.-like alien that comes to earth and is transformed into a powerful hero in return.

“Krrish” picks up the story of Rohit’s son, Krishna, who is born with all of his father’s superpowers and more. As well, in the tradition of Bollywood films, Krrish is a mighty fine dancer and singer.

“I have made Krrish from my heart because I know he is one superhero who is going to find a permanent place in your hearts,” said Rakesh Roshan, the film’s director and father of its star, Hrithik Roshan.
