Now That He’s 64 ….
Well, 48 years after penning the tune, Paul McCartney finally knows what life is like to be 64.
The former Beatle turned 64 yesterday, and penned the hit song “When I?m 64″ when he was just 16.
The singer wrote the song for his father, and in the last year has been the most talked about song due to McCartney finally reaching his 64th birthday.
The song, which sounds like it could be for a man about to marry, also has even more significance due to the break up of McCartney?s marriage to Heather Mills this year. Headlines around the world make the comparison, answering the question in the song, “Will you still love me/When I?m 64″ as a resounding no.
The Sunday Times in Britain reported that McCartney spent his 64th birthday surrounded by his family and friends. The Times adds it is expected that he will continue celebrations today with a barbecue at his home in East Sussex.
