Paris Hilton, on a tour to promote her music career, told Regis Philbin that she is happy to finally be single and is learning a lot about herself while being alone, the Associated Press reports.

Hilton has been without a boyfriend for about a month now.

“I always have a boyfriend all the time, so I’ve never really got to know me and, like, have time for myself because I spend all my energy on the boyfriend,” Hilton told Philbin and co-host Kelly Ripa on “Live! With Regis and Kelly” yesterday morning.

She says by being by herself she has learned that she is strong and doesn?t need a man to help her get through life.

She also told the talk show pair that she hopes to patch up her relationship with Nicole Ritchie. Despite a feud, the two are still starring in “The Simple Life” which made its debut on E! a few weeks ago, but are not speaking to one another on the third season of the show.
