MTV has announced that Jennifer Lopez’s planned reality show, “Moves,” will go to air. The series follows the lives of dancers as they try to break into the world of show business.

Though she’s officially the show’s executive producer, Lopez will make cameo appearances throughout the season. She also played a substantial role in selecting and auditioning dancers. Six were chosen for the eight-episode series.

“I started out as a dancer, and I know what that world is,” the former ‘In Living Color’ Fly Girl told Billboard. “These dancers have dedicated their lives to this, and honestly, the glory is not always there. It’s something they do only out of love. It’s a tough life, and I want to show that struggle.”
