In a bizarre event reminiscent of TV’s “Celebrity Boxing,” clothing designer Tommy Hilfiger and Guns N’ Roses singer Axl Rose got into a fight last Thursday night at The Plumm nightclub in New York. Both were guests at a 27th birthday party for Rosario Dawson.

According to the New York Post, Hilfiger threw a fit after Rose moved his girlfriend’s drink to keep it from spilling.

“He just kept smacking me,” said Rose, 44, in an interview with L.A. radio station KROQ. “It was the most surreal thing, I think, that’s ever happened to me in my life.”

According to witnesses, the 55-year-old Hilfiger attacked Rose without warning, hitting him several times and landing a punch just below his eye.

Rose later performed a surprise acoustic set for partygoers, including the song “You’re Crazy” which he dedicated to “my good friend Tommy Hilfiger.”
